“Modi would have been killed by Sohrabuddin if.,” said DG Vanzara

Former DIG of Gujrat Mr Dahyaji Gobarji Vanzara said the recent Verdict of special CBI court on Sohrabuddin encounter case clearly shows that the encounter was done fake on the order of some big names. Vanzara was one of the many police officers accused in the case. His name was cleared by the court in August 2017.

Vanzara is making statements on the decision of CBI court made on Friday in which court acquitted all 22 accused in the “fake” encounter case citing that any decision can’t be made against the accused as there is a serious lack of material pieces of evidence.

Sohrabuddin Sheikh, a gangster and most wanted criminal, was killed by the Gujrat police in 2005. The killing of Sheikh was said as “fake” encounter by many. His wife was also said to be raped and killed by the Gujrat police after three days of the killing of Sheikh. Tulsiram Prajapati, an ally of Sheikh and only witness of the killing of him, was also killed by Gujrat Police in 2006, a year after the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, citing it as another case of an encounter.

On the case, Vanzara said, “If Sohrabuddin was not killed then by the Gujarat ATS [Anti-Terrorism Squad], then he would have killed then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Due to political reasons, I was jailed for nine years. But truth has come out today.”

On Friday, he took the issue on Tweeter and wrote, “We became victims of political cross firing between the then occupants of Delhi and Gandhinagar.”

During the time of the killing of Sohrabuddin and Tulsiram Prajapati, and the time when Vanzara was in Jail, Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujrat and Amit Shah was State Home Minister. Amit Shah’s name was also caught in the case but was later discharged by the Special CBI court.
