The only good news Delhites can hear in a frosty and hazy winter is starting of a new metro line.
A metro line joining the Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 of New Delhi was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday morning. The metro line will be identified as Pink Line.
The Urban Affair minister tweeted greeting the inauguration He wrote, “With this record sixth metro flag off this year, the total metro network in the city is now 327 km.”
The AAP co-founder Manish Sisodia also felt pride and wrote on Twitter, “I feel utmost pleasure and pride to flag off Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 section of Pink line of Delhi Metro, with Hon’ble Union Minister Hardeep Puri. Delhi Metro had six inaugurations in 2018. I congratulate the engineers of Delhi Metro for their marvellous work.”
The stations covered under the new line are Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1.
This line will now connect Delhi Metro to Railway station Hazrat Nizamuddin, which was a major demand of Delhites to Delhi Metro Rail Cooperation.
