On Monday, the BJP is supposed to send out teams in Goa to explore their alternatives since the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is not doing well in the terms of health putting them in a worrisome situation. As per the news, Parrikar had spoken with Amit Shah, where they both discussed their next move. 62-year-old Parrikar is not in good health for a few months now and incapable to continue his work due to a decrease in health.
Parrikar just returned from the USA after the completion of his check-ups and was admitted to North Goa Private Hospital at Candolim on Thursday.
As per the sources, on Monday, the Central team will visit Parrikar in Goa which will include BL Santosh and Ram Lal. They all are working off on the identification of the stand in the minister in place of Parrikar till there is some sort of clarity in his health status. As per the sources, the Goa unit of BJP has also held up a meeting at the state level where the core committee met to discuss and then later met with Parrikar.
The political observers have said that it is not going to be easy for the BJP to come up with the replacement of Parrikar by the tallest leader from Goa. Last year, after the state elections, Parrikar had to be relieved from his position as the Defense Minister since he took off his responsibility as a Chief Minister of Goa of a delicate coalition.
However, his health deterioration has made matter worse for him since he is not able to concentrate on his duties. This has made BJP an easy target for Congress to aim which actually won more seats in Goa to form an alliance but were late by few minutes to assemble numbers in assembly.
As per the Congress government, the administration will collapse with no Parrikar at present moment. They have demanded BJP to dismiss their state government and to impose the Presidential rule. However, the defence of BJP has come up with a statement saying that is present is in the US as currently which is more useful at the current moment.
Parrikar has undergone treatment in the US for more than three months in which he returned back in June. He returned back in August for a follow up on his health and returned in the same month only on 22nd.
