An Indian-origin woman to run for US Presidential Elections

Kamala Harris, a Democratic Senator of Indian origin, said she will run for 2020 US Presidential election.
The name of a Hindu contestant, Tulsi Gabbard, was buzzing in Indian Media, and now the name of someone of Indian Origin is worth to mention the name of. Kamala is the eighth name to join the list for the party’s potential nomination.
Who is She?
Kamala has served as a district attorney two and one times as the attorney general. After that, she was sworn in as California’s junior US Senator Junior US Senator. She is the first ever coloured woman to become an attorney general in the states of America.
She is a daughter of two immigrants from two different countries: Jamaica and India.

Kamala is a vocal critique of Donald Trump, as Trump is against immigrants and she is a child of immigrants herself.
What for India?
It is well known that Trump’s policies are anti-immigrant. And these policies are especially harmful to a country like India where more than lakhs are working under H1-b visa. After Trump’s administration came into power, they changed the rule of H1-b visas and made it difficult for Indians to enter the US.
But with a president who is coloured and of immigrant origin herself, it’s easier to India to hold bilateral talks.
Even before actually announcing her running, Kamala proved her keen knowledge in making the ideas marketable. She announced her running on Martin Luther Day and said, “So today, the day we celebrate Dr King, is a very special day for all of us as Americans and I'm honoured to be able to make my announcement on the day we commemorate him."
