The Chairman of Reliance Group, Anil Ambani has written to President of Congress party, Rahul Gandhi that the party has been misinformed, misdirected and misled" by the spiteful conferred corporate and interests rivals on the offsets that are related to the Rafale fighter jet deal.
The release came out by the Reliance Infrastructure Ltd that stated that Ambani wrote to Gandhi on the Rafale deal last week. In it, he expressed on how deep anguish he is over the continued personal attacks on him. Also, he shrugs off all the allegations saying that they are baseless, ill-informed and unfortunate.
He also clarified the role of Reliance in this offset exports/work shared. Ambani even wrote that the Rafale fighter jets are not being manufactured by Dassault which is a joint venture of Reliance or even by Reliance.
Ambani has cleared stated that all the allegations by Gandhi against Reliance Defense as set up 10 days just before his big announcement on 10th April 2015 of the government’s decision to purchase the French manufacturer 36 Rafale jets links factually on the incorrect information. He added that everything is irrelevant and is completely false.
Ambani said, "The Reliance Group announced its decision to enter the defence manufacturing sector in December 2014-January 2015, months before the intention for the purchase of Rafale aircraft. In February 2015, we informed the Indian Stock Exchanges of the companies we have incorporated,"
In the release, it is mentioned that the 36 fighters jets were 100 per cent manufactured in France and then were exported to India. Ambani has cleared that there was not even a single component that worth a single rupee of Reliance manufacturers for the 36 Rafale jets.
The release stated, "The allegations relating to 'lack of experience' are, thus, irrelevant," It also added, “Our role is limited to offset exports/ export obligations. More than 100 medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) will participate in this along with public sector undertakings like BEL and Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO). This role strengthens Indian manufacturing capabilities and is in pursuance of the Offsets Policy introduced by the Congress-led UPA Government itself from 2005 onwards,"
Gandhi has been attacking Modi government and putting up allegation on them that the deal has caused a total of 41,000 crore rupees loss to the exchequer as compared to the negotiated price by the Congress government.
