Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s niece was already defaming BJP and now she is joined by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal. They all are attacking BJP for using the name of ex-Prime Minister Death to gather the votes of the citizen of India for their political gains. They even gave the proposals to rename the landmark with the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The news had it that it include the name of iconic Ramlila Maidan that is located in Delhi. This has offended many people including the CM who has expressed his dislike for the topic by tweeting it, “such an attempt won't fetch the BJP votes, but changing the name of the Prime Minister might".
Aam Aadmi Party Chief tweeted, "Changing name of Ramlila Maidan after Vajpayeeji will not fetch votes. BJP should change the name of the Prime Minister to get some votes because people are not voting on his name,"
The major of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation Adesh Kumar Gupta and BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari have denied such plans. As per Tiwari, there are no talks about renaming the Ramlila Maidan and people are just trying to create a controversy around the matter. He added, "It's a deliberate attempt to spread lies,"
The biggest ground that is double the size of two football fields and is around two kilometres from the BJPs headquarter has been the focal point of any of the demonstrations and protests. Even the address is popular to host many of the grand Ramlila every year.
