Badal and Amit Shah meet: Shiromani Akali Dal is a permanent ally of BJP said, Sukhbir Singh

The President of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sukhbir Singh Badal claimed that they have been an ally to BJP and NDA for years. They have always supported them and are with them at every decision.

Badal met Amit Shah in Chandigarh including Parkash Singh Badal, party patriarch. As per Badal, the meeting was held to discuss the strategy for the parliamentary polls in 2019.

SAD has been a key ally of the BJP- led NDA and have shared power in the Punjab region. However, this changed after the victory of Congress in 2017 February in the Assembly elections.

On Thursday, he even appealed to all the BJP allies to come together for the elections to fight the oppositions. Even after the meeting, Amit Shah said in a tweet, “It is a delight to meet Badal Sahab. Met Shri Prakash Singh Badal ji and Sukhbir at his home in Chandigarh.”

After his meeting, he met the Punjab BJP unit for further discussing strategies for the Lok Sabha in 2019. He even meets President of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday in Mumbai which didn’t go as planned as per the sources.



Apart from this, there were many senior leaders of SAD that came forward to meet Amit Shah including Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Balwinder Singh Bhundar. Also, Daljeet Singh Cheema, Madan Mohan Mittal, Bikram Singh Majithia, Ashwini Sharma, Manoranjan Kalia and Rajinder Bhandari were also present during the meeting.

Shah will be meeting Balbir Singh, 94 years old hockey legend and Milkha Singh, the legendary athlete on Thursday on their homes in Chandigarh. However, he was welcomed in Chandigarh by BJP member that include Swaran Salaria, party leader and Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh BJP President.

He is scheduled to meet many people under the name of “Sampark for Samarthan’ campaign done by BJP. Even more than 4,000 functionaries are scheduled to meet more than one lakh people are in the country to promote BJP.
