BJP finally decided to have some peace offering between the party and Nitish Kumar that has to be in huge blunder. The upset Bihar ally’s party man was offered the post of Rajya Sabha deputy chairman. However, in order to make an ally happy, they have successfully managed to upset another partner – the Akali Dal. Naresh Gujral, the leader of Akali Dal was the longest running participant for the post but at the end moment the wheels were turned and things fall on Harivansh Narayan Singh. The main issue in front of Akali Dal is on how to keep the issue in the eyes of BJP.
On Monday, there was a meeting held at Harimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister, home. As per the sources, the members of Akali Dal were considered to abstain from the voting held on Thursday while the final decision will come out today on Tuesday.
However, they have not expected that there will be any effect on the voting. The upper house has a total of three members in the group of 245-member from the Akali Dal. One of the seats is still vacant that will require a candidate to obtain a total of 123 votes in order to win. However, if a refraining occurs then only it will be able to get the magic figures.
NDA with a total of 110 members in the upper house that include the members of Akali Dal is counting on Chandrasekhar Rao’s Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Naveen Patnaik’s party for the support. The two party has the hold of total 25 votes that will bring the total votes of NDA to 125. And if a restraint is seen in the Akali group then it will move down to the 123 tally that will end up lowering the 123 magic number.
However, if we consider all the situations then Punjab upset ally can blow the plan of BJP that is working hard to reduce the strain on the Bihar alliance.
Kumar ended up his Grand Alliance with the Congress and Lalu Yadav last year in July to join hands with BJP. They have passed during the last cabinet reshuffle. Not only this, the party of Kumar is also expecting a berth of the railway for the RPN Singh. Even the issue surrounding the seat sharing is yet to be resolved by BJP Chief Amit Shah.
