Congress Triggers protest in Kerala by giving the seat of Rajya Sabha to KC(M) a former ally

Since the retirement of the senior leader of Congress PJ Kurien, the seat of Rajya Sabha was left vacant. To fill the seat, Congress decided to allot the seat to the former ally Kerala Congress (M). This decision turns out to be not the best decision and created a protest among party leaders.

The senior leaders of the party-led UDF announced that the seat of Rajya Sabha will be allotted to KC-M at the New Delhi. It was discussed with the Congress President Raul Gandhi and then the announcement was officially made.

Ramesh Chennithala, a leader in the State Assembly, MM Hassan, KPCC President and Oommen Chandy, AICC general secretary who are in the opposition claimed that the decision was taken to strengthen the UDF as the party is trying to bring out the secular and democratic forces together so that they can beat BJP in the upcoming elections.

However, it is stated that the decision is based entirely to bring the party back that was broken by the frustrated KC-M when the breaking of Bar Scam was withheld. KM Mani former finance minister and KC-M supremo have to face the allegations that were put on the party.

VM Sudheeran, KPCC President didn’t react well to the news and compared the decision with being suicidal that can destroy the Congress Kerala completely. Not only this, he also that the party workers are hurt by this decision and are not happy with it. It is like that the pride of Congress was surrendered to KC-M that will be the downfall of Congress in Kerala.

The UDF candidates were supported by KC-M in all the three by-polls elections. In the meantime, more than 6 candidates have drafted an application to Gandhi showing how much they are against his decision.

It is stated that the UDF liaison meeting will be held on Friday so we simply have to wait for the final verdict.
