One person saying to another: “I am going to support you no matter how things change in the world and region”. Sounds romantic enough? That’s what China said to Pakistan. Looks like some Bollywood scriptwriter is also writing the official statements of foreign policy department in China.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi talked to the Pakistani Foreign Minister Mahmood Qureshi. After the first-ever foreign minister-level strategic dialogue between two countries, the foreign minister of China said, “China is going to support Pakistan no matter how things change in the world and region.”
The Chines Minister also promised to Pakistan that it will protect Pakistan’s sovereign independence and territorial integrity.
After the statements of the Chinese Minister, the Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi thanked China for supporting the country in the hardest of times. Talking to the media about the China-Pakistan foreign minister-level strategic dialogue, Qureshi said that he told Chinese Minister about “rapidly deteriorating situation on the Indian side of Kashmir, intensification of human rights violations, especially after Pulwama”.
The Hunky-Dory statements are coming after China used its Veto power as the permanent member in the United Nation’s Security Council on banning Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
The two neighbours are taking the hypocritical stand, siding each other since terrorists attacked in Pulama district in Kashmir.
However, unlike the United States, India is taking a soft stand on China. The US foreign ministry bluntly said that they will push China but the Indian Ministry of External is still talking diplomatically.
But, the Indian MOE released a softer statement, “We are disappointed by this outcome. This has prevented action by the international community to designate the leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a prescribed and active terrorist organization which has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 2019.”
