There is a famous phrase in Hindi, which seems to be written for our current politics. The phrase says, “Bas Ek Hi Ullu Kafi Tha Barbad Gulstan Karne Ko, Har Shakh Pe Ullu Baitha Hai Anjam-E-Gulistan Kya Hoga” (Only a single owl is enough for ruining the garden. There is an owl on every branch, What would be the outcome of the garden?)
Now, the news is that a BJP leader claimed that Hindu god Hanuman was a Muslim as there are many names in Islam which are quite similar to “Hanuman”.
Bukkal Nawab, who gave the statement, is a member of Legislative Council. According to a report by the news agency ANI, Nawab said, “Hanuman belonged to the entire world. He was loved by people of every religion, every sect, every community. I believe that he was a Muslim.”
The BJP member also said that not just by Hindus, Hanuman was loved by everyone. Hanuman belonged to the entire world. He was loved by people of every religion, every sect, every community.
#WATCH: BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab says "Hamara man'na hai Hanuman ji Muslaman theyy, isliye Musalmanon ke andar jo naam rakha jata hai Rehman, Ramzan, Farman, Zishan, Qurban jitne bhi naam rakhe jaate hain wo karib karib unhi par rakhe jaate hain." pic.twitter.com/1CoBIl4fPv
Earlier Nawab was a member of Samajwadi Party but just a few months ago, he had joined BJP. Nawab said, “Many names in Islam had been derived from the deity and would not have existed in his absence. That is why the names of the people in Islam are almost similar to Lord Hanuman, whether it is Rehman, Ramzan, Farman, Zeeshan and Qurban,” he said. “Such types of names are found in Islam only.”
Earlier Yogi Adityanath had said that Hanuman is a Dalit which raised quite a lot of controversy. A Hindu body in Rajasthan had lodged a formal FIR against Adityanath. Later Baba Ramdev said that Hanuman was not a Dalit but a Brahmin. And now this.
After losing elections in a number of states, it doesn’t seem that BJP has learned any lesson.
