IPL auctions: Here are the key takeaways

Winter has come, and people are already feeling the IPL fever. The auction for players was held yesterday in Jaipur. More than Three Hundred and Fifty players were up for the bidding. Out of them, sixty players were chosen by the team owners.
Worth the buzzing news is eight players were sold for more than 50 million dollars (5 crore rupees).

The names that glittered the most were Varun Chakaravarthy and Jaydev Unadkat. Both were sold for 8.4 crores to Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
Among others, these players were sold out for high prices:

  • Colin Ingram: 6.4 Crore rupees

  • Mohit Sharma: 5 Crore rupees

  • Shivam Dube: 5 Crore rupees

  • Carlos Brathwaite: 5 Crore rupees

The most unexpected bid was of Prabhsimran Singh, a 17 years old guy from Patiala, who sold for whopping 4.8 crore INR.
Yuvraj Singh was sold in the third round for his base price of 1 crores rupees. His was the last minute buy.
