To spark up yet another controversy Kim Kardashian has launched her line of shapewear for women with the name of “kimono”. The very own self accomplished reality star has announced the news of the launch of the brand on her social media account recently, she quoted” Finally I can share with you guys this project which I have been working on day and night and trying developing it for the last year. I’ve been really passionate about this for the past 15 years”. She says that this is the ultimate working solution when it comes to shapewear. But the bad news for the star begins when she was dragged into the debate where people, especially from Japan, do not much like her idea.
As the name suggests kimono is traditional Japanese wear that has a long and rich cultural background, due to huge error people has pointed out the negligence of the star toward the research for her project. One of the account mention that the name of the product is disturbing to her since there is no resemblance to kimono and is culturally offensive to her as well, this shows that it is just a word for the Kim who fails to understand the real meaning behind kimono.
One of the popular Instagram page Diet Prada which is known for its stand against the popular brands for their cultural miss-appropriateness has also trolled Kim.
The problem does not end here as Kim has trademarked her brand for kimono body, kimono intimates and kimono world, which will further annoy the Japanese as Kim is sharing the traditional cultural wear with the intimate lingerie brand.
On the other, the brand also came under the scanner for not using any plus-size model even though it offers the size ranges.
People from Japan on Twitter and Instagram started sharing their kimono dresses photographs that include their childhood pic too, they call out Kim for using cultural misappropriated information to have the financial benefits which should not be done by the anyone who has a brain, one user wrote.
