Manohar Parrikar is blackmailing Modi, claimed Congress leader

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy said that Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is blackmailing Narendra Modi in regard of Rafale to retain his post of Chief Minister.

According to the inputs given by news agency PTI, Jaipal Reddy was attending a function of Jan Akrosh Rally in Margao. The rally was organised on Thursday, where Reddy said that BJP is not expelling Manohar Parrikar from the seat of Chief Minister, despite bad health of Manohar Parrikar, because Parrikar is blackmailing Modi.

Manohar Parrikar has been suffering from Pancreatic Cancer for the past few months. He has made very few public appearances since his health condition has got worse. Congress and other political workers of Goa are demanding the resignation of Manohar Parriakr but BJP is saying that they should wait for any progress in Parrikar’s health.

Demanding Parrikar’s resignation, Reddy said in his speech, “Parrikar is sticking to the chair of Prime Minister like a leech. And he talks about morality?  I know he is in a position to blackmail Narendra Modi.”

“Parrikar as defence minister was not taken into confidence by the PM while signing the [Rafale] deal and the next day Parrikar was on record stating that since the prime minister had agreed, he would back him,” Reddy added.

Congress is attacking BJP since the case of Rafale deal has come into the limelight. Congress is demanding a Joint Parliament Committee to sit for the case of Rafale deal. Talking about JPC, Reddy said, “We are ready for discussion in Parliament, but we want Joint Parliament Committee because it can ask for all the documents and call every officer, including Chiefs of Defence Forces and the Prime Minister, before it.”
