Mukesh Ambani saved Anil from going jail

In an act of saving kinship, Mukesh Ambani paid 550 crores to a Swedish multinational telecom and networking firm Ericsson and saved his younger brother from going jail.
Actually, the Swedish company had some business with the Anil Ambani-led company. The Swedish company went to a court in 2017 when Anil’s company didn’t pay a sum of 1,500 crores. The case was first filed in a bankruptcy court, but it reached to the Supreme Court at last.
The Supreme Court gave the decision against Ambani’s company. It held them in contempt of court and gave a deadline. The court threatened the Ambani to send him in jail if he didn’t pay the money before March 18 (yesterday) and also ordered him to offer an unconditional apology to the Swedish company Ericsson.
As the new deadline was about to end, Anil’s elder brother Mukesh stepped in.
According to a report by the news agency PTI, Anil said thanks to his elder brother and sister-in-law.
In an official statement, Anil said, “My sincere and heartfelt thanks to my respected elder brother, Mukesh and Nita, for standing by me during these trying times and demonstrating the importance of staying true to our strong family values by extending this timely support.
I and my family are grateful we have moved beyond the past, and are deeply touched with this gesture.”

Anil is planning to pay his debts by selling the spectrum he owns to Mukesh’s company Jio. Reliance Communications has already announced that it would file for bankruptcy through the National Company Law Tribunal.
