Navjot Singh defended, "No One Questions PM Modi", his visit to Pak

Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Cricket-turned-minster, visited Pakistan to attend his friend’s Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, oath ceremony. However, his visit turns out to be the most controversial visit of the era when the people can’t keep their calm on it. He shared a controversial hug with the Army Chief of Pakistan and that have offended millions of people of India. It is a matter of criticism and people are shunning him for even going to Pak after everything. He even occupied the seat next to Pakistan occupied Kashmir President Masood Khan during the ceremony.

On this, he stated, "My seat was changed at the last minute. I was told just 5 minutes before ceremony that I was to be seated on front row. I sat wherever they made me sit,"

He put pressure on saying that it was not a political visit but a friendly one where he was warmly welcomed. He even pointed out the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Lahore via bus and the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Lahore in 2015 which was unscheduled while he was coming back from his official visit to Afghanistan.

He even mentioned that during the unscheduled trip, PM Modi hugged Nawaz Sharif who was then Prime Minister of Pakistan. He added, "No one is questioning PM Modi,"

He even talked about Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, his boss, “I was criticised by the Captain, by top Congress leaders. It is not necessary that if the Captain has spoken against me, I should too."

However, when the critic reached a height to where he the hug with Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa came up, he said, "The Pak Army chief said they were making efforts to open a corridor from India's Dera Baba Nanak to the historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. What followed was an emotional moment,"

The Chief Minister Amarinder Singh is not known for his best ties with his minister has publically said, “I think it was wrong for him (Navjot Singh) to have shown the affection he did for the Pakistan Army chief, I am not in its favour... The fact is that the man (Mr Sidhu) should understand that our soldiers are being killed everyday. My own regiment lost one major and two jawans a few months ago,"

The things started to stir more when BJP Spokesperson Sambita Patra came forward, "He tried to implicate India in some way. He tried to say India is not the one who talks peace and prosperity. Who gives him the license to say all that but Rahul Gandhi," "What are you doing, Rahul Gandhi? Have you opened a Pakistan desk in India,"
