Section 144 imposed in Faizabad

The administration of Uttar Pradesh is on High Alert, as two far-right groups, Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, have plans to organise meetings in Faizabad District on Sunday. According to a news report by News18, The two groups are meeting in order to escalate the process of building Ram Mandir in the City.


Section 144 has been imposed on Faizabad district. Section 144 prohibits the assembly of more than four people.


Shiv Sena’s President Mr Udhav Thackerey confirmed to the media that Shiv Sena will visit Ayodhya on Saturday and will offers prayers at the disputed site.


Sanjay Raut, a member of parliament, of Shiv Sena, was quoted by news agency PTI. He said, “The Babri mosque was demolished in 17 minutes. How much time does it take to draw up papers?... From the Rashtrapati Bhavan to Uttar Pradesh assembly...they are all BJP governments.”


Other than the Shiv Sena, The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is also planning to organise a “Dharma Sabha”.


The Parishad is calling for a grand rally in order to escalate the process of Ram Mandir construction. According to Vishv Hindu Parishad, more than 1 lakh people will join the rally.


The Parishad also said that this will be the biggest meet of religious leaders and Sants to support the construction of Ram Mandir after the incident of 1992 when Babri was demolished.


Security is increased in Faizabad after the announcement of these two organisations. The district administration is planning to install CCTV cameras at the necessary places to monitor and record everything happening. An anti-terrorism squad of police and a bomb disposal squad have been called in order to further tighten the security.


Many district level officers like the Additional Superintendent of Police, District Magistrate and Divisional Commissioner have confirmed to the media that everything is under control. They have confirmed that there is no fear in the environment. Both the organisations, The Shiv Sena and the Vishva Hindu Parishad have taken the necessary permission from the administration and will work according to it.
