BJP Chief Amit Shah filed a nomination from Gandhinagar yesterday for LS Polls. The nomination was filed in the presence of Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Shiv Sena Chief Raj Thackeray and other allies were also in attendance. Amit Shah who is the member of Rajya Sabha will contest the Lok Sabha election for the first time.
Before signing the nomination Shah addressed an election rally followed byroad show. While addressing the rally, Shah expressed his deep gratitude to BJP for making him a special candidate of the party.
In his rally, he said, “If BJP is taken away from my life, only ‘zero’ will be left. Whatever I havelearnt and given to the country all belongs to the BJP.” In the previous era “Lal Krishan Advani” and “Atal Bihari Vajpayee” has been the MLA from Gandhinagar. I am glad that I have bagged this opportunity to become MP from the same constituency. BJP is a party which is moving on the ideology of Deen Dayal ji”.
Shah paid tribute to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel before signing the nomination which was later followed by roadshow from DRH Regency Hotel to Patidar Chowk in Ghatlodia area. In the road show, home minister Rajnath Singh, former chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari, railways minister Piyush Goyal, Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thackeray, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan and BJP national general secretary Ram Lal were also present at the Vijay Sankalp Sabha along with the Shah’s son Jay Shah.
Polls for Lok Sabha Election will be held in the single phase on April 23. There are 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat. The counting of the vote will take place on May 23.
