India is a secular countary .... in papers. And it’s political parties are not seculars even in the papers. Even the manifestos are filled with nothing other than Ram Mandir.
After Vishva Hindu Parshid’s rally in Ayodhya, Shiv Sena’s rally in Ayodhya, Shiv Sena is planning an another “Dharma Sabha” in support of constructing Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Sabha is speculated to be held in pilgrimage town of Pandharur on Monday.
In the rally, women and youth are also likely to attend as the party holds a majority of “whole family” voters.
According to a report by News18, A Shiv Sena leader said, “We did not want the large number of Shiv Sainiks to come to Ayodhya. But Sainiks from across the state will come to Pandharpur. Around three lakh people are expected to attend the rally.”
Sanjay Raut, who is a Shiv Sena veteran leader and a Rajya Sabha member, said, “For us, Ram Mandir isn't an election issue. After Uddhavji's Ayodhya rally, there is a lot of excitement and curiosity in Maharashtra. Pandharpur is also called Dakshin Kashi. That is the importance of the city. Vithoba-Rakhumai is the deities of the working class, farmers and labourers. We are going to seek blessings from the deity."
A Shiv Sainik from Latur talking about the rally said, “We are excited about the rally. Last time we were asked to stay back and not to travel to Ayodhya. But that is not the case this time. There is mobilisation at a district level."
This Sabha is seen as more of a show for strength than a religious one. Last time when Shiv Sena did a rally in Ayodhya, big umbrella right-wing organisations like RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad followed its steps, hence it was considered as a majority hit.
The youth wing of Shiv Sena is being led by Uddhav's son Aditya Thackray. Uddhav will try to lift his son’s carrier in upcoming elections.
