Dozens of people are dead in a suicide bomb blast in Afghanistan. The Bomb Blast’s target was a gathering of many religious figures in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul.
The Health Ministry spokesperson, Mr Wahid Mjorh, said that the number of dead in the bomb blast has reached up to the mark of more than 50. And the toll of injured is up to 70.
The spokesperson from the ministry also added that the number of the dead could increase as most of the people injured are in a serious condition.
The interior ministry spokesperson, Mr Najib Danish, said to the media in a press conference, “ a suicide bomber detonated his explosives”. The main area affected from the bomb blast was a large wedding hall where a group of scholars, people of high stature and clerics were supposed to mark the birthday of Islam’s prophet Muhammad.
Many people, who escaped unhurt or with small injuries talked to the reporters. Spectators said that more than 60-70 people could be dead as the explosion was of high power.
Afghanistasn’s President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attackers and in order to pay homage to the dead, he declared Wednesday as a day of Afghanistan's national mourning.
Spokesperson of Mr Ashraf Ghani declared the mourning on Twitter.
