This tension has caused a lot of impact on the programmes such as security assistance that is given by Delhi to the small countries in order to help them to protect their exclusive economic zones that are carrying out the survey and combat piracy.
Even Ahmed Mohamed, the Maldives ambassador in India have told that the two military helicopters that were provided by Delhi were mainly used for all the medical evacuation but there is no requirement of them on the island as they have built up enough resources of their own to ensure their safety.

He said, "They were very useful in the past but with the development of adequate infrastructure, facilities and resources we are now in a position to handle medical evacuations on our own,"

As per the Indian navy spokesman "We are still there, our two helicopters and the men," and also said that the foreign minister is handling the matter. It is said that this is the result of China involvement with the Maldives where a former Indian navy officer, Abhijit Singh stated that, "Now the issue is Yameen wants the helicopters out, but more importantly he wants the personnel out. It is not the helicopters that trouble him so much, it is actually the fact that there are these people there."

He added, "Now the issue is Yameen wants the helicopters out, but more importantly he wants the personnel out. It is not the helicopters that trouble him so much, it is actually the fact that there are these people there."
