To stop fake news messages, instant messaging app Whatsapp is planning to roll out a new feature in its app called Reverse Image Search. The step is taken in light of many tragic incidents happened because of fake news messages.
In the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Whatsapp is word bound to stop fake news. In a talk given to media, WhatsApp India’s head Abhijit Bose said, “We're pleased that the recent changes we've made to limit viral content and educate users is having an impact. This work is never done -- there is more than we can and will do.”
According to a report by WABetaInfo, Whatsapp has recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.19.73. In the update, it is working on the search by Image feature. The feature is not out yet but will be updated as soon as they test a bug-free version of it.
