Trump’s Environment Chief Resigns, Faced with Ethics Scandal

On Thursday, Donald Trump, President, announced the departure of Scott Pruitt, his environment chief. Pruitt faced ever-growing scandals that were speeding with his conduct in the office.

Trump tweeted this news to share with everyone, "I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency," The ending month speculation was also on the man that has said to be tasked with dismantling former President Barack Obama’s well known green legacy.

Trump added, "Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this,"

On interacting with a journalist, he told them about the aboard Air Force that there was nothing as the final straw that led to the departure of Pruitt and the move is on him only that according to him was working on for a couple of days already.

Trump stated, "He came to me and he said, 'I have such great confidence in the administration. I don't want to be a distraction.' And I think Scott felt that he was a distraction,"

Trump also added that, on Monday, Andrew Wheeler, the deputy of Pruitt and former coal lobbyist will take over the office and become the acting head of the agency.

"He is a very environmental person. He's a big believer, and he's going to do a fantastic job," Trump said.

A former Oklahoma attorney general, Pruitt was reported to close ties with the fossil fuel industries that were the main centre of attention on the investigation purpose. The investigation was done by many of his own agency inspector general, Congress and two other independent federal agencies.

As per the list of threats, all the charges are common. People believe that he had used his power of position that he attained in 2017 February for his own welfare. He got employment for his family and enriches his family lifestyle that is a violation as per the federal law. He even punished the subordinates that have shown power to go against him and raise their voice or the people who were not trustworthy according to him.

"Given Pruitt's complete failure to protect our clean air and water, and with 13 open federal investigations into his work, the only question is why this took so long."House Democrat Earl Blumenauer.

The resignation came after his confrontation with a woman in a restaurant in Washington who called him to resign.
