Wajid Khan of Bollywood music composer duo Sajid-Wajid passed away on Sunday in Mumbai. He was 42.Wajid alongside brother Sajid made their debut as music directors with Salman Khan’s Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. They went on to compose music for several Salman movies like Hello Brother, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Garv, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Partner, God Tussi Great Ho, Wanted, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Veer and Dabangg. Music composer and singer Wajid Khan, of Sajid-Wajid fame, died in the early hours of Monday. The 42-year-old was admitted to Surana Hospital a few days back due to kidney infection. The news of his demise was confirmed by music composer Salim Merchant. Music director Wajid Khan, known for his compositions for Salman Khan's popular movies such as 'Wanted', the 'Dabangg' franchise and 'Ek Tha Tiger', passed away on Monday morning in a Mumbai hospital at 42 due to kidney infection complications. Soon after his death, several news reports emerged that claimed he succumbed to the novel coronavirus.
In an interaction with news agency PTI, music composer Salim Merchant confirmed the cause of Khan's death. He revealed that the singer-composer was admitted to Chembur's Surana Hospital a few days ago where his condition deteriorated.
Expressing his condolences to the late composer, Salim tweeted, Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid -Wajid fame. May Allah give strength to the family.. Safe travels bro.. @wajidkhan7 you've gone too soon. It's a huge loss to our fraternity. I'm shocked & broken," wrote Salim.
Wajid also was a mentor of the music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012. Apart from composing music, Wajid had recorded many of the hit songs in Bollywood.
