Navjot Singh Sidhu Resigns from Punjab Cabinet

After the shifting of important ministry after the reshuffle of the Cabinet in Punjab, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from Amarinder Singh's cabinet. Sidhu shared his resignation address to Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday on Twitter. The date of June 10 is written on this resignation. Sidhu wrote in his letter to Twitter: "I resign as a minister from Punjab Cabinet."

He tweeted another tweet that he would also send his resignation to the chief minister. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had withdrawn the local bodies and tourism and cultural affairs departments from Sidhu on June 6 and handed over charge of the Department of Energy and Renewable Energy. Two days after the reshuffle in the Cabinet, Sidhu was excluded from the ministerial set up by the Chief Minister for speeding up the implementation of government's ambitious programs on June 8. Sidhu did not take charge of his new charge even after one month of cabinet reshuffle due to the state of stalemate with the Chief Minister.

Significantly, in Punjab, Navjot Singh Sidhu had become a minor for his own government. In fact, BJP leader Tarun Chugh wrote a letter to the Governor complaining that he had taken the oath of office but has not taken charge yet, he is still enjoying the salary and allowances he receives as a minister. It was written in the letter that the dispute between Sidhu and CM has created a constitutional crisis.

BJP leader told Navjot Singh Sidhu, "The burden on the exchequer", the governor said: Tarun Chugh further said that he has appealed to the Governor to make a decision in the interest of Punjab if the minister does not want to work, someone else sees the department at their place. Along with this, if he is picking up a jobless job then action should be taken against him.

Sidhu Has Not Taken Charge Even After One Month Of Being Replaced

Let me tell you that Navjot Singh Sidhu is very angry with the change in ministry this time. On June 6, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had withdrawn the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department with Sidhu with the urban body and handed him charge of the Department of Energy and Renewable Energy. Amarinder took back the department from Sidhu and blamed him for his poor performance and since then the tension between the two became public.
